i talk to myself. not like long conversations with myself. but little pep talks like 'sarah...time to step up and study'. i don't consider that weird in itself but i don't say 'sarah it's time to go study' or sarah you need to go study... i constantly without thinking about it, instinctively even say 'sarah we need to study.'
i always refer to myself when speaking to myself in plural... what is wrong with me.

Nah it's not a bad thing, esp. if it motivates you. Everyone talks to themselves; i think there would only be a problem if you didn't realize that you were talking to yourself ha ha. It's just a way you express yourself; it's a way you think - a way you deal with problems even maybe. I say as long as it has no negative effects on you it is not at all a bad thing. It could be far worse, I mean there are people out there with imaginary friends or stuffed animals they hide in the closet - these things are far from what you're describing about yourself. Like you said, pep talks; what's wrong with motivating yourself?

Sweetness, there is nothing wrong with you, as a matter or fact this is a very healthy behavior. You sound like someone who is pretty busy with a lot on your plate and/or just likes to think things out and through. Nothing wrong with this, lot's of folks do this including me. Heck wait to you get my age and talk things over with yourself just so you can find your dang keys or your purse or just to remember why it was that I came all the way upstairs!

Enjoy yourself and don't worry so much, you are young and a student and that is hard enough to make it through...Remember to put yourself on the list and make time for some self-time.

God bless and take care you wonderful young hardworking student. I am so proud of you young folks!

Sarah, as long as you are not saying unhealthy or negative things to yourself, there is nothing wrong with giving yourself a verbal pep talk. This is just an effective way of motivating yourself. Rest easy, you are normal.

No, you're not crazy. Studies have found that people who talk to themselves actually utilize measurably more brain power than those who don't.

And no I don't talk to myself.

*edit* I'm refering to the "talking to yourself" that you do. Having dramatic dialogue with yourself or doing it constantly is odd. Talking to imaginary people is odd also.

Everyone talks to ourselves. Some talks just quietly and others loudly like you're making a conversation. Its very common.

NO. people do that (me) because sometimes they need to talk to someone and so they talk to themselves. I've talked to myself too and actually, it can be helpful, i've figured out really tought problems in my life by creating an entire different 'psyche' of me. it works. Now i don't make as many dumb mistakes as i used to.

No, you're not crazy (unless a different part of you answers back... ;) But no, a lot of people use that technique to get themselves to do things they're scared or worried about. And besides, the fact that you're questioning it, suggests you're not. "Crazy people don't know they're crazy"
