If you mean the USA and the war of 1776, then we made it too expensive for King George III and Parliament to continue to try to impose their will on the inhabitants of the 13 colonies (Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and New Hampshire)
