Being apathetic won't help you feel better, trust me. As a very cynical person, I've become apathetic towards a lot of things. If anything, that leads to more depression and less enjoyment of things you used to like to do. EVERYBODY gets hurt in some way, it sucks, but it's life. The trick is to deal with it. Surround yourself with GOOD friends and family. If you're hurt over a break up, or other emotional things, keep as busy as you can to avoid thinking too much about it. Try and avoid being alone as much as possible. You'll get through it.

Maybe it's not about feeling nothing but more about you needing to look at what is most important for yourself and what is truly worth your time and effort. You should look more into yourself as a person and start doing things more for only you. Do something that motivates you, something that makes you happy. Like do you enjoy reading but haven't read in awhile? - or to paint or maybe pamper yourself at the spa? Go and do something all for yourself for a change and forget about everything else. Go and build yourself up some more self-confidence and self-assurance; prove to yourself you can do things just fine on your own and maybe one day you'll be able to go out of your way for someone again, but make sure they are worth it. Like they say a favor can lead to twice the guilt - sometimes caring too much is actually a bad thing for who you are helping too. Don't let yourself get hurt; stand up for yourself; do what's right for yourself.

Get away from the behavior in this case I would say looking for a paticular type of friend or lover.
Feeling makes us who we are, take a break from the romance department and work on you, whether it's taking a class for something you really enjoy, fix up your place, make new friends.
Apathy is not healthy...

i do no longer think of we are apathetic in any respect--we are in basic terms uninterested in answering an analogous questions returned and returned. I mean, fairly, do you realize how oftentimes i'm getting asked approximately my underclothes or asked regarding the type of better halves my father could desire to have? i will basically say, "we are no longer stupid adequate to have self assurance they are magic" or "we are no longer polygamists" maximum of cases in the past identifying I do in basic terms no longer opt to waste my breath anymore. Am I any much less excited approximately my faith? No, yet repetition is often tedious, surprisingly whilst it oftentimes comes from the intentionally ignorant. i'm no longer asserting which you're in that classification, of direction, or perhaps that White is. there is largely a substantial distinction between apathy and the information that we don't could desire to shelter our ideals. we don't could desire to ask for forgiveness in any respect, no longer to show spend any of our time convincing others. people will have self assurance what they desire no rely what we are saying. We welcome honest questions and are continuously chuffed to consult from with the unquestionably fascinated, yet we don't experience the could desire to communicate or argue. It would not accomplish something, and we could desire to be specializing in Christ, no longer what others think of people. ...however I could desire to assert, i've got not got a project with the Screechers, as i think White referred to as them. they are surely hilarious. I went to an LDS experience in Salt Lake some years in the past, and a guy advance into status outdoors, retaining up an illustration that proudly proclaimed, "we don't choose your Mormon sandwiches!" He advance into ineffective severe, too. How can that no longer be humorous?

Smoking pot really works. Your problems don't go away but you don't care as much. But if you want to keep things legal, sleeping pills work too, just not too many at once.

However, if you are talking about getting over a romantic relationship, I still say the best way to get over someone is to get under someone else.

think of it this way: if you really need more natural psychological immunity, it will come naturally. people who are so hurt by life that they become numb are people who need this detachment, if only temporarily.
