My graduation dress is a botanical green strapless. How tacky would it be to match my shoes to it? I'm 33 and graduating from college for the first time so it's a really big day, bigger even than my wedding 9 years ago!
The dress (from anthropologie.com) hits at the knee and has a bit of flounce to it.
Mules, sandals or pumps?
What about a contrasting color?
Your help is appreciated!

I would wear shoes in the same color family, not the exact color green. As for type, sandals if it is outside and the weather is nice....pumps can be uncomfortable if they are new, and they look can look sooo formal with a dress...

I would definitely match my shoes to my dress. It's not tacky at all. I would wear open toed sandals since it is the season. If you can't find some cute green ones that match then try a gold toned sandal.

It's not tacky - now, matching shoes, purse, nail polish and eye shadow would be tacky [ don't laugh, we did that in high school ].
Buy shoes that feel good [ comfortable ] and make you feel sexy. You'll be standing a lot, for lining up etc., so not too high a heel. I would do sandals, in a color that makes you happy.

its not tacky to match shoes to outfits. it tacky to get matching shoes though. you know what i mean? like when the shoes are made to go with the dress... thats tacky.

i say maybe a white sandal with a stiletto heel. sometimes if you match and its not the exact color, it can look tacky.
