I had one done in February of this year, and it is uncomfortable, but it was only painful for a few days. The reason you're having trouble urinating is because you had a catheter in you while you were having the surgery, but if you're feeling major pain, you should probably call your doctor.

You will need to wait at least 6 weeks to give the area time to heal. The insides are going to be very tender for a while because of the work that was done inside.

As for the painful urination it's possible that they did a lot of work around that area or you have a urinary tract infection. Let your dr know about this. In the mean time please drink a lot of water. This will help reduce the concentration of the urine so that you don't feel a lot of burning.

As for other things you need to do right now, eat lightly for the next few weeks because your stomach muscles will be very sensitive due to the procedure. Take any pain medication you were given to deal with the pain as soon as the pain starts, not when you can't stand the pain anymore. This is where a lot of people get confused by the instruction "take as needed for pain". They think it means that you take it when you can no longer stand the pain.

When you wait til you can no longer stand the pain the medication is either not going to work at that time, or it will take longer to work. You just had surgery so you have a legitimate need for the medication.

When you go to get up from bed or the couch use your arm muscles to help you because your abdominal muscles are going to be weak for a short time.

Try to walk a bit every day if you can and also rest a lot. Don't be trying to do alot of lifting right now because this will set your recovery back. Even when you are thinking that you feel somewhat better even at 8 and 12 weeks post-op be careful not to do too much as this too will set your recovery back.

The rest is going to be important as it helps your body to heal.

The average time for recovery from laparoscopy is about 1-2 weeks depending on how much work was done.

I wish you well with your recovery.

i don't think it is possible to burn out endometriosis since there is no cure for it maybe they burnt out a cyst though, i had the same thing done only my stomach had to be cut open and everything is going to feel a little different for a while, you had a procedure done that is not normal to your body so it needs to heal. if anything is concerning you very much then call you doctor he/she will tell you what to do.
