I would recommend tampons. Try both and see which you prefer.

You can also use Instead Soft Cups. You can use them for up to 12 hours and they are more comfortable than pads or tampons. But I recommend them only after you've had some practice using tampons.

suggest pads to start with... after a few months you can use tampons but do use the super slim ones.

remember they can break your hymen if too big.a lot depends on how old you are, if you are young teen, your body is small and you dont want to do any damage inside.
Could you have a word with the school nurse, big sister, cousin, ,mum, auntie for advice ? might be an idea you know

Change whatever you use every couple of hours and WHEN and IF you do use a tampon, dont forget to remove the them.. you can get toxic shock syndrome and end up in a hospital

as wonderful as tampons are ( i am a real advocate for them- they are so much tidier, and don't smell at all) I'd suggest you start with Pads.

Tampons are always a little tricky to start out- and when you're stressed/scared/nervous/excited, they are a little harder to use again cause you involentarily tense 'down there'.

Pad are fine, and I still use them at home sometimes anyway. The bottom line is that you need to take a pad that is as thin as your flow can handle, and everytime you go to the toilet change the pad.

The reason I say to change them every time is that the 'smell' people refer to with pads, only normally happens when the blood is in contact with air.

I suggest winged pads cause they stay in place better, and when you are a bit more relaxed and in tune with your cycle, start with the slimest tampon you can find.

Pads! I would say to start out with them, and later on (2 or 3 years) you can start experimenting with tampons! They can be very uncomfortable and sometimes painful. Pads are much easier to use, and you don't have to touch strings.

Well its completely up to you. I'd say scince you just got it. Stick with a pad. But when you dont like pads or you have swimming then wear a tampon.
