I have a large lump under(inside) one of my nipples. I am a male so this is scaring me a little. I am only 12. Do I have cancer? I also have hair growing around my nipples. Is this normal or am I a freak?

That lump is rather common during puberty; it's caused by an imbalance in hormones. On some guys it lasts a few days, weeks, and on some a month or two. Tenderness is common.

Hair is normal; you're not a freak. =)

There is nothing weird about what is happening. It is very common as guys go through puberty. The lump is normal if it is about the size of a pea and does not hurt. If it hurts, go to the doctor,. Otherwise, it will disapear in time. Sometimes they disappear, and then come back, then go again. Don't sweat it.
Hair around your nipple is normal.
No, you are not a freak. Puberty can through a person for a real trip sometimes, and you are doing the right thing to ask a few questions when you don't know what is going on.
Good luck. Relax!

Many guys have temporary enlargement of the breasts during sexual development [ called gynocomastia ]. This is normal, and almost always goes away in a year or so, but we can't tell what it is thru the net. Tell your mom/dad, and ask the doc if it looks OK.
Hair around the nipples - cool! You' ll be the first kid in school to have a hairy chest!

If you're serious, I wouldn't worry about the lump. I had that too for awhile at that age and was freaked as well. Same with friends of mine. Still don't know what it is but it went away as did other peoples. Just part of puberty bro.

You are perfectly normal and absolutely not a freak. Have your mom or dad make you an appointment with your doctor so that he can check your nipple.

My younger brother went to the doctor for that today. It's normal. Just part of puberty. Should only last 6-8 months. that's what the doctor told my brother.

This is probably a normal hormonal shift you're going through, but there are some other conditions to be considered, so best to get it checked out ASAP
