"Black Betty" is a masterpiece. Van Halen is probably my favorite band of all time. Not a huge fan of Poison, but enjoy some of their tracks.

Check out:

Stone Temple Pilots - Interstate Love Song, Plush, Purple, Sex Type Thing, Wicked Garden, Vasoline, Big Empty, Creep, Lady Picture Show, All in the Suit That You Wear, Sour Girl.

Guns N' Roses - Mr. Brownstone, November Rain, Sweet Child O Mine, Paradise City, Welcome to the Jungle, Patience, Knockin on Heaven's Door, Civil War, Yesterdays, Live and Let Die, Dont Cry, Sympathy for the Devil

Motley Crue - Dr Feelgood, Smokin in the Boys Room, Girls Girls Girls, Wild Side, Kickstart my Heart, Same Ol Situation

Oh Damn! 80's music! Hair bands?!
Check out Ratt...Round and Round or Lovin' You's A Dirty Job
Or maybe Scorpions....Rock You Like a Hurricane!
Perhaps Twisted Sister and their hit The Cost.
Whatever you do....DON'T download these songs!
Buy the albums these songs are on , and enjoy them in their FULL glory!
And then check out some of the following....
Iron Maiden
Judas Priest
Megadeth
and of course....some OLD Metallica!
Their best albums are the oldest....
Kill'em All
Master of Puppets
Ride The Lightning

Good luck with collecting your vintage Metal!
Feel free to drop me an email if you need more suggestions!

Rock or Hair Bands?.....Those bands that you mention are Hair Band or Pop Metal.....if you get by those and want to hear some real Metal that won´t hurt you and have execelent music, then try:
Band: Dark Moor, Album: Tarot and Dark Moor (Self Title)
Band: Kamelot, Albums: The Black Hole, Epica, Fourth Legacy, Karma
Band: Iron Maiden, Albums; Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, Somewhere in Time, Brave New World.
Band: Judas Priest, Albums: Pain Killer, Angel of Retribution

Band: Stratovarius, Albums: All of them, except for the last one.

Now, you have some real and great music to start.....You want more, let me know.

If you 're into just rock, I recommend Aerosmith, Nickelback, 3 Doors Down, AC/DC, Wolfmother, Warrant, Evanescence, or Dragonforce. If you're "into" into rock, like hard rock/metal try Slipknot, Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, Godsmack, or Shadows Fall.
