Its not actually the starter piece, when you take it off the oval shaped piece attached to the engine wont turn which enables it to start. Its a scooter and I can push it so there no problems with the wheel movement. WHat can I do to fix this?

my goped did this and it was because the piston was stuck cause the guy before me didn't use much oil. if your piston is stuck then undo your spark plug put a couple drops of oil in the cylinder and then try it. since you can push start it then your piston is fine. take your pull start off, grab a 1/2 socket and torque on that sucker as you were to tighten it up and it should move. you cant hurt it this way. if you go the other way you'll need a tuff skinny screw driver and insert it in the little holes on the block to hold it from moving and then that will loosen it up. then you could oil everything up and put it back on. and see if it works.
