This Ship was built in 1944(?) and had multiple remodelling and was decommissoned in 1969 and sold for scrape in 1970
I served aboard the "Mighty K" 1965-68 and would love to build the model, can't find it anywhere.

Kearsarge (CVS-33) was an Essex class carrier commissioned in March of 1946; and when you served , she was an ASW Carrier !!

SADLY, the only model I know of the Essex Class carriers are made by Trumpeter in 1/350, and they've only got the "short-hull" Essex Class. There are strong rumors of Trumpeter releasing a "long-hull" version soon.

I build this model updated as a Bon Homme Richard... a GREAT model.
