i say when your around teachers or adults act respectfully doesnt necessarily mean you have to ''grow up'', my advise to you is take advantage act like a kid have as much fun as you can be happy about how old you are and how you act being happy in whatever you do has no limitations...because once your in adulthood your gonna wish you could be exactly where you are now so dont care what they say tell them ''im taking advantage before its you dont have an excuse to act young'' dont grow up until you feel YOU need too
You go girl! lol

Being mature doesn't mean you have to be boring. You can be mature and have fun. Why act immature at school? Everyone still has their inner childhood in them somewhere. Growing up doesn't mean you can't act like a kid again. You still can. Growing up is a good thing, you just can't stay a kid forever. You can be mature at times and just kid around during times you think you can. There is a time and place for everything.

You are at a transition age; you're between a child and an adult. The reason people are encouraging you to grow-up is because they care about you. They know that this is the time in your life that you practice being an adult, when mistakes are still forgiven. In a few short years your mistakes will no longer be forgiven and the consequences of immature actions will follow you forever.
Who told you that you can only have fun when you are a kid? There are plenty of ways to have fun, and there are actually more opportunities to have fun as you get older. Why are you afraid? Don't fear change, embrace it!

Childhood is for learning to become an adult, practicing stuff like mature behavior and such. If you never practice, how are you going to be an adult when you move out?
Also, please remember that 18 is an arbitrary number... throughout history 14yos were usually seen as adults, not as kids.
If even the other 14yos are telling you to grow up then you're probably annoying them. Don't annoy them in class, if you have to behave immaturely then be mature about it and skip school instead of frustrating your classmates who might be trying to learn something.
Btw, I'm 22, my husband is 30 and we're not boring (at least not to ourselves, which is the important part).

Being a grown up can be fun- I mean, we all have senses of humor, and just because we have jobs and obligations doesn't mean it's all boring.
I'm considered an adult- I still like to goof around and have fun. However, it's easy to go over the top.
You can still goof off with friends and have jokes, but do it in a moderate degree. It's cool to have a fun person around, but when they do stuff way too much it's really annoying.
Think about what they say makes you immature. You don't have to change your entire personality and "become" an adult, just tone it down a little bit.

Most of the time once you hit your teen years people expect you to be more mature, but being mature doesnt mean being boring. Just try to grow up a little and still have fun. Wish you the best. Enjoy your early teen years while you can.

Being an adult and acting mature doesn't have to be 'boring'.
The main point is that if you are disruptive or annoying in your behavior, other people won't want to be around that, and authority will tell you to stop.
I say be fun and youthful without being disrespectful or acting like a jerk.

I am right there with you. I started high school last year and its like they shove the whole world onto us. They want me to know exactly what I want to do the rest of my life.
Kids need time to be kids but the pressures of the world are making us have to grow up faster. Its ok to act like a little kid as long as you know how to grow up when the situation demands it.
Do go full "Peter Pan syndrome" but still keep your kid ways for as long as possible. You will have plenty of time to be grown up later.
Ignore the people who tell you that you have to be grown up, they just fail to remember the fun of being a kid!

at 14 you need to start growing up. Who said you can't have fun at any age*.....but FUN and acting Immature are two different things.
and if you feel growing up is boring and having to act mature......then you definately need to do some growing up because your outlook on being older is not correct*
