We like to think about marriage as being a religious concept, but in this day and age, what really matters is the legal aspect. You can get married in every church in the world, but if you don't go down to the court house, it legally doesn't count- you have no rights and that's where the problem really is. Insurance and parental rights should be granted. My mom had a friend who was in a committed relationship. When her friend died, her kids went into foster care instead of with the woman they'd called 'Momma' for the last 5 years. I think that's wrong.
I don't care whether or not the church condones it, I think the government should as a matter of principal because it protects children and families.

For me, I would probably say that I'm against homosexuality in general. Yes I'm Christian and yes God plays a role. But when you think about it, even if I wasn't Christian, it still wouldn't make much of a difference. Marriage is a blessing from God, and a privilege in his honor. He made both man a woman. I'm not the one to read His mind and tell what He thinks, but it's pretty obvious why he made both man and woman, TO REPRODUCE. It being the new-generation, our society is not working at its best. But in the end, as always, God makes the ultimate decision.

properly for sure, the sanctity of today marriages would be below question. because of the fact gay each and every person is a superb larger risk to marriages than divorces, and adultery, and incest between a be certain and newborn. for sure, i'm being sarcastic, gay marriage could be legalized everywhere. Why are we "separate yet equivalent," in that we've an identical rights, yet not an identical privileges?

I'm absolutely for it. There's nothing in the constitution that restricts someone who has a different sexual orientation. There's also nothing that requires religious influences in marriage, and so a non-Christian marriage can't be restricted on account of the law.
I don't think it's fair at all that some people can give less rights to a minority group on the basis of anything, be it sexual orientation or race. If it's a natural, genetic tendency (which I believe it is, at least partly), then it's not a choice. And if it is a choice, well so what? Yes, it's considered anti-Christian, but so is lying... liars can still get married. And such.
...hope you enjoyed my rant. :)

Gods have no part in the laws of the USA - check the First Amendment. Why should people be treated as second class citizens just because of who they fall in love with? Same sex unions should be legal with all the benefits of heterosexual unions. Marriage is a civil contract and has nothing to do with religion although religions perform marriages.
Religious bigots should be ignored and same sex relationships recognised.

I don't see why not, The same people that argue about the sanctitiy of marriage are the same people that laughed at Brit spears when she married her ex boy in vegas for a day long marriage.

I do not believe in same sex/gay marriage, and for me God does play a role in it and you are not going to change my mind, so don't try. Also, one of the reasons God gave us marriage is to reproduce, as as far as I know homosexual couples can't reproduce.

I don't see any reason why not. Sure, people talk about the "sanctity " of marriage. As for me, I know quite a few married couples (man/woman) that would make me question the "sanctity " of marriage.

I'm for same sex marriage/unions. My thinking is that it doesn't affect me in any way so why should I care.
