So me and my boyfriend decided on the name Jewel Ariana Barns(thanks to Cuppycake) for our daughter that is due in June.So what does everyone think of it?? Love it,like it hate it? Let me know!

the middle name is pronounced Ari-ah-na.

and yes I see that her initials will be JAB but we really love the name..

So does everyone really think that Jewel is that bad for a first name?? I love the name but now I'm starting to second guess it cause of all the reactions I'm getting.

'Fraid I dont like Jewel as a first name, great as a middle though!

Also, is it Ari-ah-na or Ari-an-a? If the latter I much prefer it spelt Arianna.

Arianna Jewel would be lovely, and avoid the initials being a word; JAB-jab, to poke/prod sharply

Sorry, The Jewel, I don't like at all, and I say this because my sister in law was going to name her Twins a boy and girl, Jamaal and Jamila, (oh my God, did the blood boil through my veins) so I set out on a mission and I was the one in the delivery room with her, and that was 14 years ago, their names are Jayson Karief, and Jasmyne Marie and to this day whenever they see me I get hugs and Kisses and squeezes from them for NOT letting their mom name them those names that sound like the inside of a pigs guts. LOL I'll try and figure out something, but please stay away from Jewel and That name Destiny (sounding like destinex booty ointment). OK let me stop. I need more background for a name, that will suit her perfectly. I have four children their names are Genyne (pronounced Jeanine) Brittany (which I HATE) I use her middle name of Desiree and Jessica (who is named after my Beloved Grandfather Jessie) and my son Jerome (who is a Jr. and I hate that name) but his nickname is Romeo, he's been called that from day one. But their names fit them to a Tee. Run from the name of Brittany, they're hell drivers, you are your name, close your eyes and imagine the personalities of the kids with same or different names and I bet you'll laugh and know what I'm talking about. Sorry I DO like the middle name for her first name, Ariana, or Arianna and becauses she's going to be born in June, Prayerfully a GEMINI as I am, she'll love her first name as Ariana, just make sure u spell it right all the time. My first name is Diana and my mom spells it Dianna and that just BURNS me up. She didn't name me, my aunt did, but I trully LOVE my Name.

I think it's cute.. But like a few others have said, she may get teased a little when she starts school if her first name is Jewel, besides Ariana is an adorable name, not to mention one that not too many others will have.. So again I agree with the others who said flip the first and middle..

But it is your decision..

I think that Ariana Jewel sounds better than Jewel Ariana.

I do like the name but I like Ariana Jewel better. Maybe you could call her A.J. for short!

First of all congrats, im due in June (17th) aswell and also having a girl..I think its a beautiful name especially Ariana. My boyfriend and i still havn't agreed on a name, so i think you did well with that one!! Good luck!! And its a beautiful name.. :)

it's ok. ariana is nice but jewel...you have to think about her whole life....after she graduates college and goes into the real world...how will she feel when she has to say "hi, my name is jewel"? it's a little tooooo different.

I love the names but not quite sure it goes well with the surname, it reminds me of Dynasty ....also the initials will be JAB
