There are two names for people from Bosnia and Herzegovina: Bosnians and Bosniaks.

Bosnians are typically ethnic Croats or Serbs who were born in Bosnia, but this term is often used in general for anyone from the country.

Bosniak is a specific term brought back into use in the 1990s to refer to people born in Bosnia who have traditionally adhered to Islam and share a common language and cultural background. Perhaps half the people in Bosnia are Bosniaks.
