I've always wondered about that, also. I suppose many people think their one vote doesn't matter, but our state passed a Constitutional amendment with only a 2 vote margin. I've also seen many local elections end up in a tie vote, so one vote can make a difference. I think another reason is that most states do not make it easy to vote. Laws such as same day registration or more polling locations would help that situation. College students, in particular, often have a hard time making it to the polls on election days. Those folks should early vote by mail. However, all in all, we could make it a lot easier for people to vote. In one state, I think it's Oregon but I'm not sure, everyone votes by mail. It doesn't get any easier than that. The final issue is lack of voter education. The League of Women voters does a great job with voter education, but most of our state and local governments do not.

Vote? The young people should have to fulfill a two year committment in the armed services. That would get the youth of this country back in OUR corner.

the politicians beat us to death with ads for 2 years. everyone is so sick of politicians by election day, voting is the last thing they want to do. It wouldn't hurt to have some decent candidates to vote for either. Our choices really suck. Just my opinion. BTW, I voted every election.

Voting = jury duty. The youth probably can't wake up in time.

Because, there hasn't been a good Presidential candidate from either party since Reagan? (Or, Kennedy if you just can't stand the concept of a charismatic republican).
