We met at an airshow. She was dating a friend at the time. I was 47, she was 44. Both divorced.
As we talked, and told each other what kinds of things we liked, we just kept finding out we liked the same things. Since she was dating a friend, I knew it was hands off, but she and I became very good friends in the meantime.
As usual, my friend managed to piss her off one too many times, and she broke it off with him. He managed to piss me off about something later, and we haven't been friends since.
A month or so later, we were talking on the phone, and I had this moment of crystal clarity, and said, "We're in love with eath other, aren't we." It wasn't a question, but a statement of fact. There was a pause, and she said, "Yes. We are."
We were living togther less than a month later, and got married in a civil ceremony four months later. A year after that, we had a Celtic Handfasting Ceremony, sort of a soul bonding.
I never actually proposed, as we both knew were were going to get married, and it was just a matter of getting the ducks lined up.
We still feel like we're dating, going on three years later.

FUNNY STORY..............my wife and I met during our senior year in high school. We didn't talk all that much at school, we didn't go out on dates, and we didn't even tell our closest friends that we knew each other. Behind closed doors we had sex 4-5 times a week! We were 100% sexually compatible, with both of us willing to do just about ANYTHING together! And for about 5 months we had an absolutely amazing time.
Shortly out of high school, I broke up with her thinking that we were going our separate ways anyway, so why delay the obvious? It was then that she told me she had been in love with me, which made me realize that things had gone way too far.
3 years later and after I had dated DOZENS of women, I still couldn't get her out of my head. How amazing she was, how incredible she was, how kinky she was, and how good to me she was. So I called her up out of the blue. We talked for about an hour and made plans for me to meet her at her apartment for dinner. When I arrived we both liked what we saw! We ate, we drank, and within moments we were going at like crazy! Just as we did in high school, only this time no parents! That was in September 1995 and we've been together ever since. We got engaged in February 1998, got married in April 1999, and had some WILD adventures for 5-6 years before settling down, sobering up, and starting a family.
Today we're both 33 years old, we have two gorgeous twin baby girls, we have a golf course home, a garage full of BMWs, a six figure income that enables the wife to stay home and be a mom to our babies, and a life that I wouldn't trade in for anything! Some say I'm lucky! I'd say they're right!

We met through mutual friends. We were both 24 at the time. We dated 3 years before I proposed. I asked her by presenting a ring when she totally was not expecting (I was supposed to be at work, but came home and there she was). She was stunned for a minute, but said yes.

Met in college, dated 1 year, bought a ring, put it in a glass of champagne that I gave to her, and told her to not break a tooth on the "ice". She said yes right there.
