The clip that keeps my refridge light on has broken off and now it is dark inside . my friend pushed it in the hole and hold it with a toothspick and than taped it . now it stays on whether the fridge is close or open . is it save or can it cause a fire or cause a short circuit . please help , i can't stand a dark inside fridge !

It's costing you money two ways. By heating up your fridge, and by using electricity while it's on. Won't hurt anything except your wallet.

No safety issue at all if you haven't grossly overdone the wattage of the bulb. I will use more energy in two ways, the bulb will use electricity constantly and produce heat inside the fridge causing it to run more.

It's safe enough, the bulb will just burn out faster if it's on 24/7, than if it's only on whenever you open the fridge door.
