LOL, no but he would probably have gotten a bump on his head!
Edit: Lets say it was a "hairy" coconut, then according to Einstein space would be "curled"...;)

You must be nuts :)
The falling apple story is a myth. It mythed him by a mile.
If it had happened we wouldn't have gravity we'd all float off in to space cause if a coconut falls on your head you is dead boy.
It wouldn't be hairy anyway cause coconuts when they fall from tree have an outer covering which is smooth and a shiny green.
So says pompous me so yah boo sucks

interesting thing about newton, he was a member of the house of lords in england for several years and everything thats said in there is written down and recorded. the only thing newton said in all his time there was .... "does anyone mind if i open this window?" HOWS THAT FOR GRAVITY.

Heehee, thanks for making me smile.
As the story goes, the apple hit him on the head. If it was a coconut, he would have been knocked out! He might have developed amnesia, and not 'discovered' gravity.

No.
Your assumption is that the apple hit him on his head, it did not. It fell within his field fo view but it hit the ground, not him. A coconut would have done the same.

Funny stuff - if we carry your conclusion a bit further, imagine if he had been sitting under a statue loaded with pigeons - then gravity would have been..........................
