My Dell Latitude D600's processor died and the computer will not turn on. I tried removing the hard drive from the computer and the carrier and using it on an Inspirson 1150, and although I could view the files, I could not save any to a cd. I just received a new Latitude D620, but the hard drive from my old computer won't fit into the new one- the prongs don't match up. I did not really want to go to the Geek Squad and have them remove my files- I have personal things on there- and I don't have access to another laptop. What should I do? How else could I get the files (word, pictures, music) off of the hard drive??? PLEASE HELP!

I assume that the new PC uses S-ATA (serial) connectors whereas the old one uses P-ATA (parallel) connectors.

You need to buy an external HDD caddy for a P-ATA disk. You put your old hard drive in the external case and it plugs into a USB port.
