The Suez Canal. It made it possible to sail through the mediterranean sea instead of all the way around africa, or all the way across land on the great silk road.(It is still in use today)

Dat man ...he be Kolumbus.....he did not shorten de distance, he found de new north un south Merica but he tink, all de way until he dies, dat he did find de East Indies. When he sailed de blue in 1492 he be already three quarter krazy genius. So den.....that be de reason the Indians in Merica be called Indians...like in Cleveland Indians. OK??????
