Have a realistic, accurate idea of what you'd like to pay for that item.
You want to target this price, so start lower by a reasonable amount, knowing they'll counter offer.
Keep countering their offer until you both agree on a mutual price.
If you believe they are being unreasonable, be prepared to walk away. Many times, they'd rather have the sale, than lose a customer. Again, if the price you are targeting is realistic.

Before Bargaining you should very well know ,how much the commodity you are buying is worth?
If you do not know the value in price of the item you are buying, you might be still fooled by the seller.
For that purpose, people just do window shopping, before they actualy make up their mind to buy.
Friend I forgot to ask you? What is at you are bargaining?
LOVE? Then I cannot Answer for it.

depends on where. if you bargain in a reputable store you search for sales. if you bargain on the street, you suggest a lower price and then say that you only have this amount of money, which is far below the price asked by the dealer.

Bargaining is fine. But do not ever do it at the cost of honesty and integrity.
