You most likely have other programs running in the background that are using processor resources and reducing the amount of time that your DVD player or other video program can use the processor.

Some things you can do...those icons in the lower right corner of your screen (The system tray)...close as many of those programs as you can prior to playing a DVD/video. You might also turn off your anti-virus only temporarily. This also uses alot of processor time.

Are you playing videos directly off the web, or ones that you have downloaded?

If it is directly off the web then you are going to be very dependent upon your web connection to the server at that moment.

Try downloading some videos first and then viewing them.

Hi,
wow.... 3.2ghz...my dream....512ram...what??? lol
anyways,
this is because of your internet speed, not your computer, you could buy the most expensive computer and it would still lag. the only way is to upgrade your internet service for a faster speed.
PS: if you have more than one computer, don't go online at the same time!!! and if you have programs that use the internet, close them ex skype, trillian...ect

hoped i helped!

hard to say what may be causing the problem,it's strange you only have 512mb of ram with such a big processor, try lowering the quality of the video, your ram may just be lacking.

u should have posted your specs.

Edit:

I checked out the specs, and it seems it should run the vids. fine. could be windows or your web browser.(it could be a number of different things) most likely not a hardware issue.
