Try opening an image with your internet browser, it works...something might be wrong with your internet settings (you can actually block images from sites in some browsers). If it doesnt, try downloading a different browser.

Usually images are put in the images folder on a web site. This is for tidyness sake.
Right click on the white square with the red cross and then click on properties to find out where your web page is trying to look for your images.
Make sure that you image names are all in lower case and have no spaces in the name. Then make sure that your html reference is also lower case and has no spaces.
The usual code should be
This is assuming that you are trying to access the image from the root directory.
If you want to access the image from another directory, say
/special/
then you can add a back directory hop to the directory of the image so it will look like

There is something wrong with your HTML and there something wrong with your something as well.
It might have been useful if you had supplied your website's URL so that people could analyse the code.

in internet explorer go to the tools menu select options then the advanced tab.
scroll down to the multimedia section and make sure the box for "pictures" is checked.
