What does EMO stand for? I heard it means either Everyone M**terbastes Often or something like that? I have never seen an EMO or however you say it, but I do know that Jared Letto looks pretty Gay these days. Does it mean if you dress up like a homosexual that you are an EMO? Somebody please fill me in. I'm not hip to the groove cause im an old dude but the kids in my neighborhood are all gay and say they are emo's. May it is an emu? Im not really sure. Either way i think they are gay. Let me know what EMO stands for please?

i think EMOs are all gay. They guys wear girl pants. They are definitely gay. i think they should all go live together and make gay love with eachother in their girl pants. EMO is the stupidest thing i have ever heard of and they are all a bunch of homos.

And yes Jared Letto is looking pretty gay these days just like all of the EMOs i see walking around my neighborhood.

Emotive Hardcore which was a music genre which originated in the 80's & died out in the early 90's. Now you'll gonna come across alot of people who say that 'emo' means emotional or emotionally unstable but let me tell you that they are wrong. They don't know jackshit & are just making assumptions. Obviously they haven't done their research. You're gonna come across alot of people who think that alternative bands such as Panic! at the Disco,Fallout Boy,AFI or MCR are 'emo' but again they are just assuming that because these guys wear eyeliner, black or are fascinated with the idea of death. 'Emo' isn't about what you're appearance is or what fashion style you love or about hating life & yourself, its about a music genre which you love & support. Bands such as Rites of Spring,Jimmy Eat World(before the middle came out),Weezer(the old 90's songs),Dashboard Confessional or Hawthorne Heights. Theres aot of ignorant people out there who don't understand these subcultures & just assume the worst in them. They're scared of people being different. As long as you yourself know that 'emo, 'punk' or 'goth' came from subcultures which formed in the 70's-80's & that they are all music genres & nothing more. As long as you understand that that the fashion doesn't make you part of these subcultures. As long as you understand that you're only part of these subcultures if you live & breathe for their music & support them then you're fine.

EMO- EMOtional- DRRRR and it does NOT mean gay or any other nasty thing you said === perhaps you should just ask a question and leave it at that. N so if they are gay. .. what Diff does it make?? The way i look I look at it is- its NONE of my business or anyone elses what other do or their sexual preference even though EMO has nothing to do with it.

EMOtional.

Started with the music -

and then now is used to describe a group of people (although everyones definitions differ really) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emo_%28slang%29

If you want a cynical view of emo, listen to the song Emo Kid by Adam and Andrew!

Hope that helped.

I didn't think it had to do with homosexuality. I just thought it was kinda punk/goth looking. When Spiderman was being bad, he was EMO. Dark, goth, too much eyeliner.

Generally speaking, it's slang for 'moody'. [Very loose definition].

Emo is 'emotional', or 'totally emotionally disturbed' or just plain 'moody' as I mentioned first. Usually, it has a negative connotation and isn't exactly a word of praise or positive reaction.
