In short, No. DDR 2 is not physically backwards compatible with DDR. The notch on the chip and number of pins is different on each version of DDR.

Are you sure you aren't able to return the memory? Most stores, online and offline will allow returns, usually within 30 to 14 days.

If you can't return it, you could always keep it for a future computer upgrade. Or you could sell it online on Ebay or Craig's list.
You may also want to check with friends and family who may be able to use the DDR 2 memory.

Unfortuanely, no. DDR II uses a complely different setup.

However, since all computers will move to DDR II, you can either hold onto it for later, or get a motherboard that supports it.

If you bought the item recently, you should be able to return it though.

Just sell it because the only way you could use it means spending more for a motherboard that has ddrll or special ones that has both ddr and ddrll slots.

NEXT TIME you buy something significant for your PC, consider asking first the PC geeks here. Lots of them here.
