I knew a guy who played in the cubs minor league system for a number of years and during spring training Sammy would always come back from the offseason overweight and out of shape. He also a jerk sometimes but always invited some of the minor leaguers to bq's at the end of spring training.

That he has hit home runs in more different ballparks than any major leaguer. He has homered in 44 different stadiums. Only 2 current NL stadiums have not seen a Sammy homer - St. Louis's new version of Busch Stadium and RFK Stadium in Washington. He has homered in all other current parks.

Twice I've seen him yell at kids seeking autographs - made them cry.
Most people don't know that he's not a nice guy at all.
