I can only speak for Ireland but, Madeleine's Aunt was interviewed on radio. She thanked the media for the exposure they were giving to the case and seems to think it is very important to keep the story in the public mind. Out of sight, out of mind and when people forget, they won't recognise suspicious things when they see them.

I beginning to think that it's all getting out of hand. Lawyers flying to Portugal to look after the money!, politicians wearing yellow ribbons and discussing the matter in parliment, celebrities having conferences and pledging cash, a maddie fund etc. Why can't the Bitish public and the policitians put this much effort into other pool children who are starved, abused and living in absolute poverty? I am afraid to say that the celebrities and policitians don't geniunely care, they just want to look like they do.

I think all are harmed...from Madeleine to Robert Murat, with the parents of both people in the frame as well. The press - and a few people on this site want Mr. Murat to be the suspect. Of course if he is (rightly) charged in time to come that will make the British press all righteous also, for right now, they're not too sure how to play it, except roll out stories on the 'ex-pat oddball' (The Express' view on Mr. Murat, if I remember).

Constant and high media coverage is the only way to help - if people aren't told whats happening and constantly have her picture in their mind they will not be constantly looking out for her.

Abduction and murder don`t always go hand in hand. If she`s been abducted for illegal adoption, there is no way these people will kill her. They will more likely dump her somewhere when the heat gets too much. You can never have too much exposure. Always someone out there who knows...........................

As the media seems to know sod all I doubt it. I also doubt that, if she is still alive, she is still in Portugal.
Cant' believe it, but a thumbs up to you VOR. Please don't stop annoying me!

It is not where she was taken FROM that matters. It is where she was taken TOO.
The UK tabloids will soon tire of the story, as soon as they have some other scandal to focus on.
