Who else did you call a brat ?, and who is so unsporting to
act offended.
I feel the little green monster of jealousy climbing up my leg
and biting me where it hurts.
Are you shamelessly insulting other people behind my back?
You're answering so many questions so fast I can't keep an
eye on you anymore.
I am the only 45 year old spoiled little brat on Y/A and don't
you ever forget it.

If you called someone a brat it's probably because they were acting like a brat. They just need to get over it. There's a lot worse names you could have called them. And if you were just saying it playfully then why should they get offended. Maybe because that person is not just a brat but a whiney one at that. So no I would not feel like a rat.

Wow - how old was the person you called a brat? Like 2 or something!?! If that's the worse thing they've ever been called, they are truly leading a blessed life! If it's really bugging you, or this person's really important to you, you should apologize. If they aren't that big a part of your life, I'd just move on. Don't think I'd want to hang out with someone who gets offended that easily!

I would possibly start using the word more around them, in a light, joking manner. Intergrate it into your normal slang. Start calling people brat and smiling, or call yourself a brat, indicating it's a joke. Maybe they will ralise that you were joking, and that you didn't mean to offend!

I would apologize and then ask why they were so touchy about a word that means so little. There are so many worse things a person could be called.

If you playfully did it, tell them it was a joke and that you didn't mean to insult them and apologize.

id question the persons sensitivity and learn from it....calling someone a brat should not really offend anyone.....
but never the less if she is offended then you may have to watch how you speak to her in future.....
