I broke my pinky finger and yours sounds a lot like mine. My finger turned black and blue though. They didn't reset my finger, they just put a splint on it. It was ok about 2 weeks later.

If you have not recently done anything to your finger, it is probably not broken. However, you may have a fracture or pulled ligament of some sort. Your best bet would be to have it looked at by your physician and he may suggest an x-ray that will solve your pain. As far as getting your finger "rest"; that would only be done if it was broken and healed wrong. (yes it does hurt to have a bone reset) Could take up to 6 weeks for the healing process....

Really no point in living in doubt. Best to see a doc. and get it x-rayed to settle the matter once and for all. If its broken, like mine was, then they put it in a splint for sometime. The splint is the fastest way to heal it. They no longer use plaster but something you can strap on.You can take it off but then it wont set for three months or so and will set crooked. My friend did that with a broken toe because he couldnt bear the splint. It never really got okay.

No, it's not broken, just sore and bruised and hurt. Give it some time to heal and it should be good again soon If it's not good in a couple of weeks or a month, then you should see a doctor

I bet its just a sprain but try this, bend your finger as far as you can then tap the very tip of your finger, this causes your bones to come in contact, therefore if its broken you'll definately feel it. I thought I broke mine too but a trainer did that and he was right it wasn't broken.

It doesn't hurt. Honest. I've broken most of my fngers. If you want to see how it fairs for a couple of days; ice it for a while and then tape it to your ring finger to immobilise it and give it a bit of a rest. If it still hurts after that - go get it checked out..

I would definitely go see a doctor on this one. Broken fingers (and hands) can take a while to heal, and the sooner you get it set the better. Good luck!
