The Bush administrator has to be behind the inflated oil prices. No time in history has the oil companies been able to increase the price of oil without some kind a reason. For the last year we have been given no reason except supply and demand. This is just one of many reason why Bush needs to go.

It's not the government's place to allow or not allow a company to make profits. The company provides goods or services and the market determines the price. If nobody buys it at the price it's at the company doesn't make money. If they don't lower the price and continue to lose money they will eventually go out of business. You don't have to keep giving your money to them. It's your choice. Stop buying gasoline. Take a job closer to home. Take public transportation. Ride a bike. Walk. But quit blaming someone else for running a business and putting people to work.
to Paul B: Bush and Cheney taking kickbacks from oil companies? Why don't you look at who's backing people like Nancy Pelosi. You liberals are so hateful of the wealthy unless they are Democrats raising taxes. They're the ones who are picking your pocket. Evidently you want to live in a socialist society. If that's what you want then move to another country where you can give up your freedom to have other people take care of you. I'll stay here and work my a** off and invest in the oil companies, so maybe someday I'll be hated by lazy liberals who don't want to earn their keep.

You were asleep during government class in your government school weren't you. In a free market economy the government doesn't allow companies to make a profit or to lose money. Last I looked Bush was out of the oil bus, but T Kennedy still had some connections to royal petro. Oil companies are publicly traded and with almost all working Americans vested in the stock market profits are good. You may be too young to remember when companies were unprofitable (Carter years) I can tell you it was bad for everyone except the rich. Profit good, Losing money bad

No, it's because we are a capitalist nation. That's why those of our citizens who work hard and invest in those companies can afford to live well. Oil companies sell stock, therefore anyone who buys those stocks also shares in those profits. Bush doesn't control prices anyway, so his being in the oil business has nothing to do with it.

YES! While you are at ask GWB why he signed a subsidy bill giving the oil corporations $250 billion dollars every year in the form of corporate welfare from our tax dollars, all the while these prices have been going up. So if anyone thinks they are paying $3.00 a gallon, needs to rethink that position. We are actually paying $11.00 a gallon every time we fill up.

Or because of the Free Market? Why don't you question the government for taxing the hell out of oil. How much profit do they make each month by taxing gasoline so ridiculously high?

Tell me you can't be that ignorant...
Think about it like this. Businesses try to make profit. The more, the better. Gasoline companies are no different. They will continue to raise prices as the market will allow. When demand ultimately becomes affected, the prices will correct accordingly.
Go figure out what cough syrup costs per gallon, and you'll be back in Yahoo Answers the next day complaining that Bush is in the cough syrup business...

You should look on how much tax is added on the asking price of crude oil... then ask yourself... are the oil companies making all the money or is it the government? Youre pointing the finger in the wrong direction
