I doubt that kids who say they're bi in school do it for anything other than for show, to be cool. I don't hear of kids coming out as gay for fun though, gay is still pretty taboo.
Teach your kids self respect and boundaries if you're worried. If I were you I'd be worried about my kids getting pressured into ANYTHING no matter what gender is pressuring my kids. Teach your kids to stand up for their morals and not give in to peer pressure that goes against them. This should be a given for any parent.

Relax, no one can be "recruted" into being Gay. And no, there are no more today than there were 50 years ago. Today, kids confuse experimentation with sexuality...they learn soon enough. Your, my, all kids are born either gay or straight...they may play anywhere in between, but they have an inborn preference that cannot be changed. To even think that your kids will not do something with someone is not very practical. And on the good side, your sons will NOT get another boy pregnant...every "cloud" has a silver lining. Good luck

I don't think people choose to be homosexual. I would think they are born that way. It is just that its no longer so much a taboo subject today that they are more willing to come out and embrace their sexuality.
However, I agree children should be educated and exposed on issues like these so they do not succumb to peer pressure. It is at this stage where children are most vulnerable even if it is against their own orientation. Many would act just to fit in with their peers.

There is a hidden agenda posing under the guise of tolerance and education that is targeted at children in public schools.
They pretend to want to help when in fact they are influencing.
we all know kids are confused and working out self identity and all.
They think if they package being gay like being in a clique that more kids will flock to it. So YES it is a fad in a way as how it is being marketed to children.
Of course these same predators that are pretending to council and help our kids are really just trying to sway them with the gay political rhetoric.
Have you noticed all the kids asking questions about gay marriage and stating it was a school project?
With the huge number of illiterate people graduating high school I would prefer if they stuck to teaching children how to read and right rather than how to display your pride in a sexual deviancy.
All these people that are feigning surprise and ignorance of what you refer to should go to solidify your suspicions. They would prefer to make a silly glib statement to scoff at you rather than really consider the issue and all it insinuates.

Dutchess, be careful, this is a touchy situation. You don't want to set off any alarms. We know kids are born male and female. Some folks just don't get it. They make their own rules and abandon God at every turn. All we can do is pray.

ive noticed many people are saying they are bi or gay, but they continue to make fun of gays and have only straight relationships. This is showing how they are comfusing experimentation with sexuality. They may also believe maybe they will be seen as "sexier" as a girl if they are gay.

lol a fad you say? that's too funny, as if people suddenly "become" gay, or just "decide" one day to be gay to check it out. being gay isn't a "lifestyle," any more than being a doctor is a lifestyle. people who aren't gay can't be pressured into becoming gay. people are born gay or straight and that's just the way it is. some gays can't deal with the crap they get from society so they hide their real feelings and try to be "normal."
btw, what's a grammers school?

I like to think its because as my generation grew up and had children they taught them to see past things like colour and gender and were more open with them... You cant force someone to BE homosexual... altho many of us were forced into pretending to be heterosexual.
Todays children are not growing up with the stigma that I did about homosexuality.... when there is no fear there is power. I hope we are raising a more enlightened and powerful generation.

Teach your kids to have a mind of their own. Most parents don't anymore.
