Is it all women, or is just my daughter, but she seems to expect me take her out for lunch and dinner all the time, regardless of what meal I have cooked.
Now, don't get me wrong here, but I don't fix hamburger helper, or crap like that, but steak, chops, chicken, pork roast, and such with all of the trimmings, however, my child would rather that I give her money and let her go to resturants like Texas Roadhouse, as if it is required that she be allowed to eat out whenever she wants.
Now, is it just her, your do all of you think your that special and that we should take you out all of the time.
P.S.
I am a great cook, and I even do the cleaning after word, so that she has more time to spend with her friends, before she has to report for duty with US Army.

I'm in the same boat. My 13 yo son apparently thinks money grows on trees. He is constantly wanting to go out and eat dinner. What bugs me the most is when he wants to go to a diner where they serve the same foods I make and mine is better. I am an excellent cook and make a variety of foods so he doesnt have to eat the same thing to often. I have finally just gotten to the point of telling him he can either eat what I fix or go without. Hey if anyone has a better idea I'm all ears.

@ MIRA You need to stop that BS, that won't make a person feel no differently about you. Internet attention is not that serious. I wonder how old are you? Your parents need to throw your computer away and take you to a doctor because this is so sad. Not being mean or anything but I'm trying to help. Like i told you before look at yourself in the mirror more often and tell yourself *I Love You*. You don't need anyone else to tell you those words to be special.

Alright, 1st off, you cant really ask all women it they do that because, yes, it is a father/daughter kind of thing. Which differs from family to family. Now she must not have lived with you forever...or maybe she has, but I know that because I only saw my father once every 2 weeks, yes I wanted to go out. I don’t know why. It seemed to last longer if we did something I think. Or even if I went with my friends, and he stayed at home, because then I would be able to think, " Wow, I had a good time at dads house this weekend." And I wouldn’t be so reluctant to go back.
As for the "Rest of us” Um, yes, we are that special, and you should (if you have a daughter) already know this.

Okay, so let's see this situation. Your daughter is over 18 (if she's reporting to the Army) and she still expects you to give her money to go out and eat at nice-ish restaurants? In that case she's nowhere near ready for the army, and just let her know that very soon she'll be missing your cooking.

Your daughter takes you for granted. She doesn't appreciate the time, effort, and care you've put into cooking for her, and she would rather spend time with her friends than with you.
Try telling her how you feel--show her this Q&A as well. Hopefully she's not too selfish and immature to understand. You should also stop giving her money.

Maybe she wants to go out as a way of spending time with her dad. Especially if she leaving for the service. some times i like to go to lunch with my dad cause at his house we don't actually talk at the table , we eat and go our separate ways.

I like to eat out, but restaurants are no big deal. Someone cooking for me is so much more special than that, and with you cleaning up too! She just doesn't know she's lucky :)

It depends for me. I don't ask if I'm at home Im fine with the meal but when I'm getting home from softball I always ask my dad to go to a restruant. It might be the way we feel that day?

Throughout your whole question, I thought you were talking about a rebellious, spoiled
nine year old. Wow. She needs a good swift kick in the ***, and told to grow up.
And she's in the Army? God help us all,
no offense intended. What does she do there? Other women's manicures?
