Of the list you have, its b) Iwo Jima.

However, Iwo Jima was not the bloodiest battle overall in the Pacific theater. That "honor" would go to Okinowa, which happened after Iwo Jima was long over. The use of kamikaizes would be paramount in the Japanese effort to defend Okinowa, and I've seen somewhere that of a figure of 1 in every 4 naval casualties from all of WW2 (counting the Atlantic, Mediterranean, and Artic theaters against Germany) are the result of the Battle for Okinowa.

Casualties at Midway and the naval battles of Guadalcanal were limited I think. Leyte was a campaign and included several islands. So I'm going w/Iwo, around 30,000 dead. If that's homework, what a strange question...

Iwo Jima. The Marines bled themselves dry to take it.

Probably okinowa.

Don't forget the Battle of Creta. The germans won that one (you said a victory, not who the victor might be). But they had so many losses, they never did a major airborne operation again.

Or arguably the Battle for Britain. 'Only' a few thousand pilots died; but it was also an attempt to break the fighting spirit of the British. The hunderds of thousands civilian casualties should be taken in account. In that regard, the american firebombs on japan's wooden cities could be mentioned..but let's face it...that was hardly a battle.

None.

As wize woman's link would probably show, Okinawa was by far the bloodiest in the Pacific- for both sides.
