Use a fifty gallon drum for the fire and a water hose at the ready in case things get out of hand. Another way is build your own house entirely out of bricks and cement. I'd be glad to help you do the job if you reduce my room rent.

You shouldn't do this. What you need to do is make a wood stove. Make the stove out of oak, because then the stove will have a nice wood grain. Now load the stove with the fuel of your choice and enjoy the flames.

It all depends in what you call a "living room" the cavemen did this all the time...but their living room was a cave. The Native Americans did this every night...but their living room was a tee-pee. The hippies and outdoors-men do this also regularly because their living room is the outdoors. I hope this will clear it up for you. Thanks for the question.

Get a metal grate thing, put it in the middle of your living room and build a fire in it.

You could do it if you owned a huge stone castle and your living room was 100 feet by 100 feet and 50 feet high.

Even if you house was entirely made out of fire brick, the smoke would suffocate you if all the oxygen weren't sucked up first.
