If you want a serious answer, you won't get one. We don't remember historical western heroes, only anti-heroes.

The real heroes are the people who don't get mentioned in history books.

But, to match the theme of answers, Clint Eastwood. Although, John Wayne is the only man who can wear a pink shirt and still look tough.
