they are making money...they are required to release their profit at the end of each quarter...and there wasn't one oil company losing money. they were all making money in record numbers.

One guy is either an idiot, a liar, or both.
The oil companies (the manufacturers of the oil) don't lose money. Never have. The only will if the earth runs out of oil, or if we find a way to make cheap cars that go faster than current cars using water or garbage as fuel. When that happens water will be $15 per gallon, and people will shoot garbage pickers. But the oil producers will lose money. So that'll be nice.

It depends on what the man was talking about. There is a low point where it is not economically feasible to pump oil in the US because the cost to get a barrel to market was higher than the spot oil prices.

After oil was listed as a Wallstreet commodity the price doubled.
Those Wallstreet brokers need to share in the profits too.
