Set the background to white. Then use the transparency tool to fade whichever edge you want to fade to white.

If you only want one side to fade to white, try drawing a marquee, add some feathering, then adjust the levels or fill the feathered marquee with a transparent white (all on separate layers ...). You can also fiddle around with lighting effects, and position the light direction from the area you want to wash out.

i understand how yet cant be stricken to describe. it is composed of picking the paintbrush device, picking between the modes - theres a selection of hue, saturation, shade, and sometrhing else. then purely make the comb shade white and paint over the left area for somewhat. i think of in case you employ an excellent brush you get a miles better quantity of fade. oh and dont use a good brush, cos properly then itll be good quite than dwindled on the sting.

Your question is a little ambigous, so I'll try my best.

You can go into "levels" and drag the white slider close to the center.

You can also go into brightness/contrast and increase the brightness all the way.
