She meets these men from the internet and at first she told me she was doing it because she needed to pay some bills, and that was understandable because she was really in debt. but i always told her "this is fast easy money so dont make this a career". well now she is doing it all the time. I try to tell her to stop but she always say "there's money out there to be made".
everytime i think about what she's doin i want to cry. we've been bestfriends for almost 10 years and it hurts me that she's doing this to herself. i worry about her everytime she tells me shes about to make some money.
i love her to death and i always want us to be friends but i dont know if i can continue to watch this go on.
I cant see myself being friends with a prostitute. but then I cant see myself NOT being friends with her.
she's been there for me alot growing up and i've always been there for her too.
i just dont know what to do
any suggestions? please anyone?

First i want to thank everyone who gave their opinion without being a jerk. I didnt expect to get this much help.. thank yall so much.

I cant call the police on her because i truly believe that it will only make things bad between us.
I cant choose just one answer because i'm gonna use a mixture of diffrent answers.

Be there for her, try to help her find an actual job where she can make money legally! Tell her she is degrading herself and her body by selling it, you can't put a price on your body. Try to help her with self esteem and any other issues that might be pushing her in this direction and good luck!

Yes, I would still be her friend, but from a distance. There's this expression: Birds of a feather flock together. I would not want anyone to mistake me for a prostitute like her. It's called self-preservation. And unless you're in a state where prostitution is legal, you might not want to continuosly be in the company of someone who is committing a crime.

tell her that she is being irresponsible and immature then ask her how she thinks you would feel if you get a call saying that she was killed by one of these guys that she is meeting for sex? Tell her you are my bf and i love you but if you continue down this path you are bringing along a life of deystruction and i cannot sit behind and watch you do it. So its either prostitution or our friendship. There are jobs out there she just has to get out and look. Make it clear to her that she is no good as a freind dead. Find articles on the net about girls that were killed by internet meetings and show them to her. If you want i can help you find some. Show her reality before reality becomes her.

Well first off how old are you guys? I mean if you have your own place to live maybe you can let her come stay with you until she finds an actual job.. let her get on her feet... just be there for her... and if you do not have ur own place to live maybe you can go out and help her find a job... I know it is easier said then done but something needs to happen you cant let ur 'best friend' go down this road... just be there for her and let her know that there are other things she can do to make money... good luck

The simple answer would be talking. Is she being put in danger? Is she being forced into things? Is her being a prostitute something you're not able to handle? The real question is who really has the problem.

if she was that much in debt, then she should have gotten a better job. but bottom line, she a *h#e* and you need to sit her down before she get hurts and tell her how you feel about the situation, & how scared you are for her. what has happened is, instead of making the money she is letting it make her! bad business, though

You can't changer her, its almost impossible, you can try, but that could lead to arguements, and thats something you don't want... the most you can do is be there for her and stand bye her when she needs it... because prostitutes are people like you and me, and their doing the job they want to, unless she doesnt like the job... but you can't stop her, she's not a child. and besides, she's still your friend, and thats what you should think of her as, not a prostitute, if thats what you start thinking of her as, then thats not true friendship.

Seeing how this is bad for her spiritual, emotionally and physically (plus it's illegal), tell her that because you care about her you will contact authorities if she continues. It's a hard place to stand, but it may be time for some tough love.

make her realize the consequences if she will not stop it. bring her to a hospital where people where treated because of irresponsibility like STD. bring her to a police station and pretend your on a research and show her some violent deaths because of flesh trading. convince her that she will lose her self respect and peoples respect too. in the long run the only loser here is herself only, especially when she is not young and attractive anymore. people should strive hard to earn their living, and she's not alone.

You could report her anonymously to the police, but you probably don't want to get her in trouble like that.
At the least, make extra-sure she has protection and she gets tests regularly. She's doing something very dangerous and is at risk of AIDS and other STDs.
