I'm 5'7" weight 135. My Dr just told me that I need to weigh at least 150!!! I have a small frame. Does this sound odd to you?

Damn these antiquated English based measures,
I have to consult Pound - Kilo converters to get an Idea.
Lucky I know I'm slightly over 5'7'' myself so I didn't have to
look that one up.
135 looks a little on the skinny side to me Susan, but 150
may be a bit to much.
Offhand I'd say try the middle ground 142,5 and I am inclined
to believe you're as spectacular as you claim you are.
But just keep to a weight you feel comfortable and happy with.
I'm of Frisian descent and our mother 'Us Mem' we all revere has a statue of herself on our hallowed home soil.
She is actually a milch cow, so I suppose I'm genetically inclined to
fall for bovine qualities.
But enough of this udder nonsense, if it is only your weight that is a 'problem' there's little to worry about.

That sounds a little odd, I am 5'7 but honestly I am big boned, and I was healthy weighing 135, a little more on a thin side, (I could be healthy at 145) So that does seem a little strange. In the Air Force they said the lowest I could ever go was 125, then I'd be pushing anorexic looking, and I got down to 129, and was CONSTANTLY cold.. so I say go with what feels right for you!

That sounds odd to me. 135 sounds about right for 5'7" with a small frame.

I'm 5'7" and I was told to weigh your weight. I think 150 might be too much. I am underweight and would love to be your weight.

I have always believed that being on the leaner side keeps you healthier in the long run. You recover quicker from injuries, and the less your body carries means less of a strain on joints. If you are comfortable at this weight and your blood work is good, I don't see why you need to gain.

Just eat 3 meals a day, healthy meals, every four hours with portions of all that healthy stuff and you don't have to listen to the doctors. If you have a small frame then you should weigh just about that much. don't listen to him, get a new doctor!

My goodness! My friend is 5'9 1/2" & weighs 125. So I guess she needs to gain weight, too. I have to tell her. I'm 5'2" & weigh 283. Y'all both can take some of my weight off! LOL I have TOO much junk in my trunk.

I'd switch doctors - I am 6'1" and I weigh 225 and my doctor says I am fine. I run 3+ miles 3-4 times a week - The key is your cholesterol levels and your blood pressure.

Protein and exercise. Muscle weighs more and looks better on the trunk than junk.
