A HUGE difference. I'm a flamenco dancer and a dancer in general and I've been dancing for 14 years and flamenco is one of the most complicated dances. Tap dance is just tapping whereas flamenco requires footwork and arm work. It's mentally tiring. But it's a very beautiful and fiery dance. Flamenco also includes being able to use a fan and play the castanets. There are also certain steps that the dancer uses to indicate to the guitar play that he or she is going to change her dance moves. Furthermore, flamenco dance came from gypsy dances long ago.

flamenco is a dance of passion created by the gypsys in spain along time ago the hiting of there shoes and castanulas are made to resemble the sounds that were created when they were working in mines. im not familiar with the history of traditional tap dancing put just watching the dances you can see the difference the way they move there hands and arms the look on the face of the dancer it's all different just cuz they make noise with thier feet doesn't mean that they are the same thing

Flamenco is Spanish, Tango is Latino (central-American). Both emphasize dancing from the heart rather than just doing the steps, and both are thought to be very spiritual and moving. Flamenco is often about very sad songs- (the faces made during the dance are like suffering), while the Tango is more about celebration!

The main difference is the structure of the music that you dance to. Tap is all feet really, isn't it; whereas flamenco is the whole body.
