Well other than taking her to a doctor I would try and give her 1 midol pill to see what happens. Midol can sometimes help with the headaches and cramps and bloating. If it doesn't, take her to the docs.

Don't take her to the doctor unless she has a fever too. I have the same problem ,y (as you call it) 'girls thing' causes me a lot of problems, like i pass out, vomit, and have severe headaches. (I'm only 12)
What you can do to help is keep Pamprin around and give her ibuprofen and also let her lay in a comfortable spot with a very warm heating pad. This always helps me. But if your going to allow her to take one of the medicine (pamprin is most helpful) only give her one, i took both once and after i started feeling better i was very dizzy and almost passed out.
but believe me Pamprin, hot showers ( not listed above) and heating pads really help. And if you don't have a heating pad I'd go out and buy a good one, and make sure on the side one of the things it says it can help with is Menstrual pain. otherwise it won't do much good, and keep the heating pad around, cuz if you pull a muscle or injure yourself a heating pad will come in handy.
One more thing, give her her space unless she asks you to stay with her or talk to her, it can get very lonely, my dad had to bring me home from school one day, i kinda noticed that he felt awkward because my mom usually helps with this sorta thing.

being low on iron usually is not the situation. My daughter will usually take motrin for cramps. Drinking lots of water helps with headaches and it also helps the body flush out toxins.
The motrin will help with the headache as well. The most important thing is a good diet, eating plenty of fruits and vegetables and grains.

Besides a doctor... Iron may be it... I'd suggest to try to Mytol or the like tynol product...
If nothign else, do give her three M&M's... Yes, three is what a dose is suposto be... Now, I'd actually suggest just buy her a bag, and hopefully it will help...
Though, in reality... I'd look at going to a doctor if she has bad cramps (like she can't go to school and concentrate)... She might need to be put on Birth Control to help alieve these pains so that she can function (I know many a woman who are on BC for Bad Periods rather than Intercourse, suprisingly, I think I know more for periods come to think of it).

If it lasts for longer than a day or two I would take her to the doctor. If not, don't worry about it. Go and buy her some Pamprin or something that will take the pain away, and let her rest. Let her lay on the couch and watch movies or tv. Most women go through this and with me, it helps if I lay on my back but all women are different.

Try to soothe her as her mother would. Ask her what her mother would do to help her out. For example: my mother would run a hot bath for me. You could get some lavender (aroma therapy has been proven to help lift mood) bubble bath and draw her a bath. Maybe make some hot tea. Depends on what helps make her feel better.
I am prone to bad headaches here is what works for me. I have one of those eye pillows that I keep in the freezer. Keep her head slightly elevated and put a cold compress on her head or eyes. make the room very dark and get a Midol or Alieve make some hot tea. Go in and talk very softly to her and ask her what she needs.

Naproxen, sold over the counter, is very good for cramps but doesn't make you woozy. It's sold under the name of, for example if at Walgreens, "Walproxen." Headache is very common symptom. Don't give her anything for headache except aspirin or tylenol.
No, she's probably not low on iron. What you describe sounds very typical. Get her some chocolate, that's not a joke, it actually helps.

Low iron probably has nothing to do with it. Just give her some advil, it is perfectly safe for 12 year olds to have some, but don't give her asprin. It'll help with the head and tummy.

you don't need to take her to the doctor, it would be a waste of time and money. Give her some tylenol, a heating pad, and have her go to bed. Menstrual cramps happen to all women, some just get them worse than others. They will pass without a trip to the doctor.

Give her lots of tlc, painkillers, lots of hugs, a hot water bottle and spoil her a bit. She is ok just having her girls things as you say. She'll just need some patience because she probably will be a bit grumpy and sad but this is normal trust me. Good luck
