The remakable thing is, while living in the single greatest most successful Capitalist society in history, people still avow the supposed merits of Communism or Socialism. Look around the world and you will be hard pressed to find any truly Communist or Socialist countries anymore. Even Red China is embracing Capitalist ideals. It just seems funny that while everyone else is moving toward Capitalism, people here are pushing a socialist agenda. Socialism simply does not, has not and never will be a viable way to run a country. On the other hand, Capitalism works every time it is used. Go figure! *

The whole issue is the evolution of capitalism where few own everything, and the people who do the work are paid squat. Easy to say when you make $200,000.

Ninety % of tax returns are from those who make less than $100,000, 70% make less than $50,000, and 50% make $25,000 and less, while corporations gouge us at the pump and the president gives tax cuts to those who make on average between $853,000 and $26.5 million a year!

People like you only talk about capitalism on your side of the street and tend to forget there is another big group you tend to exclude! That is why we are so screwed up. We give too much money to those that don't earn it!

I am neither a silly liberal nor a silly conservative. I am a US citizen. As a mature citizen I fully recognize that all sides have valuable ideas to offer. A nation, any nation gets into trouble when it begins to come under the influence of only one political side. I also recognize the truth found in Lincoln's words "a house divided cannot stand". All of us who consider ourselves must begin initiating mature political discourse. We must bring this nation together in order to continue moving forward. We can and will disagree on may things. However, that does not mean that we cannot discuss our points of disagreement in a responsible and mature manner.

Continuing to use juvenile language when dicussing our differences will have the effect of keeping us divided. That philosophy does nothing but enable our enemies. The very tone of your question models that behaviour.

I'm sorry I don't get your question at all.
Do you mean like legislation that is meant to protect the environment? It's a lot more costly to clean up mistakes than it is to prevent them.
By the way, even top economists believe there should be a safety net that has socialist tendancies in even the most successful countries.

Yes they do. Liberal idealism does not only go against capitalism... it is unnatural and goes against human nature. The liberal agenda is ever increasingly becomming more and more like and almost identical to socialism. What I am going to say will sound far-fetched but in reality it is not far from the truth.

Liberals engage in practices which involve taking control of the minds and hearts of those who fall under their power. This is evident in their policies and in their everyday rhetoric. They have appealled to educators by bowing to their every desire, they have won over the unions by meeting their every demand. They appeal to minorities and special interest groups. By compromising values, sociological truths, and lessons learned from the past, Liberals has created a following.

Liberals push ideals - not truths. This is evident in what they disseminate through political means - schools for example no longer teach civics because they want children to grow up ignorant as to how and why our government is. They teach chldren to shirk civic and moral responsibilities and have removed any religious values from education - just as the communists did in hopes of making children believe that there is no greater power than the government.

By removing "winners and loosers" from children's sports, they try to make all children equal and that it is wrong to try to be better, smarter, stronger, faster than others. Where then is the incentive to be successful? Also this is expanded into our court system. Parents can no longer effectively punish their children and courts are at a loss as to how to expect people to suddenly be responsible for their actions. Instead liberals make it easier to differ responsibility to another source, like blaming crime on guns.

Liberals take on crusades such as attempts of erasing the Second Ammendment rights of the people to keep and bear arms by manipulating statistics and capitalizing on tragedies like VA Tech, but never mention how many lives were saved when armed citizens stood up against criminals.

Liberals cash in when it comes to guilt-tripping. For the last 20 years -with ABSOLUTELY NO solid evidence- Americans have been told that the earth is getting warmer and it is our fault.

Liberals want to expand the government beyond its constitutional limits to protect perople from their own stupidity, instead of educating them. They lobby for increased spending on social programs like welfare and raise taxes to pay for these programs which benefit only a small portion of society - however they fail to realize that if people had more responsibilities AND were able to keep more of their hard-earned money, there would not be as much of a need for these programs.

Liberal politicians overstep boundaries and tell our enemies that they have victory over us. They refuse to believe that there are evil people in this world who want to kill us. Many blame America for the reason 9/11 happened and do not give any responsibility to the evil people who planned and carried out the attacks which killed thousands of Americans.

Liberals want to abolish the death penalty - the execution of criminals who destroy society, but will allow doctors to kill unborn children - who are innocent - by puncturing their skulls.

I could go on for days. The sad thing is that more and more Americans are buying into this bull****. Americans, wake the hell up. Study the Roman empire... and why it fell. Do not let America be the new Rome. Do not become soft and lazy. Do not give into your enemies. Better yourselves and strive for success. Do not be gluttons. Be healthy. ABOVE ALL, BE EDUCATED.
