I have to deal with that too I am 34 weeks but I have had two before so I know now that I can move this baby down a little with out any harm to him and much to my relief. If you can feel where the baby is then some gentle nudging of it downward will give you some relief.

it will probably go away when the baby drops. I am 37 weeks, the baby has dropped(it's a girl and I carried her high btw), and I still feel like I can't breath sometimes. I have to get up and move around or lie out flat on the floor. It isn't as bad though now. I had to get a 38 bra when I've always been a 34

Oh yeah! I'm 36 weeks with my first girl and I've been so short of breath. It started in the beginning of my 3rd trimester. I mean, so bad to where it felt like I had a 10 pound weight sitting on my chest all day long. Getting a deep breath in is almost impossible! (if not, impossible!). About 2 weeks ago she dropped. My belly looks like its hanging off my body (not to mention it feels that way too!). I've had some relief on my chest and breathing, but not much at all. It seems like, for the little bit of relief I got up there, I know experience the pain "down there". I have to pee constantly! More than I ever have, throughout this pregnancy. When she moves, sometimes it feels like she punches her arm almost out of me! She's so far down that it feels like she's hanging in between my legs almost! Not to mention, she punch boxes my bladder! LOL...Don't you just love being pregnant? So my answer would be yes, it's completely normal to experience breathing issues, and yes it will let up slightly during your last few weeks when the baby drops, but to be honest with you, it never lets up completely, you will always experience shortness of breath! If it's too uncomfortable, I would let my doctor know, and maybe he/she can suggest some different breathing techniques to help expand your lungs. Good Luck!

It is actually very healthy to do gentle exercise all through your pregnancy. The exercises you mention all sound good because you don't put to much strain on your joints. You need to be careful not to get too hot or over stretch as your joints will be unstable. Water-aerobics is good because it provides a good all over workout with the water providing both resistance and support. The difference between deep water and shallow water aerobics is only in the type of work you will do. I wouldn't do a deep water class if you are at all unsure about your swimming and stay close to the side in case you get a cramp. You should always tell the instructor that you are pregnant and about any problems you may be suffering (including sore back, hips or groin). They will be able to help you with adjusted exercises. Your fitness centre may have dedicated classes for pregnancy which are really good and you will meet other expectant moms. Pilate's, yoga and swimming helped me through my pregnancy. I have a problem with unstable joints and during my pregnancy this was very painful. I found the classes relaxing and they made me feel better aligned.

I had the hardest time sitting up straight & breathing. Could not take a deep breath for anything. The baby is just up really high. When you can, lay on your left side & put a pillow between your knees so you can relax enough to try to get enough breathe.
Once the baby drops, you will feel much better.

It's pretty common. The baby is just getting so big that there's not much room left. The baby is probably pressing against your diaphragm, which can cause shortness of breath.
Try getting onto your hands and knees, and rock gently back and forth keeping your back fairly straight. This can sometimes help shift the guy into a more comfortable position.

When the baby drops its like a breath of fresh air. Unfortunately, when I was pregnant with my twins, they dropped, but one was still high enough up to inhibit breathing, lol. I'm only 26 weeks (with one) and already can't breathe!! Best of luck.

After being pregnant 4 times, I can say yes it is common. Sometimes you'll experience relief once the baby drops..if it does before labor. I guess mine were stubborn. Eventhough it seems like you are going to be pregnant forever...it does end....then you're just awake every night for the rest of your life! (lol)

This is not unusual in the last trimester. It's cuz of the baby's size and position. It's worse if the baby is breach and can kick you in the lungs.

it was very hard for me to breath also, especially with the humidity where i live. but i am 36 wks, and he's dropped, so besides an occasional kick in the ribs, i can definitely breath better. good luck. it gets better.
