Call cops, file restraining order. If it was a gift, it is not returnable.

If you gave me a gift when we were friends, then we stopped being friends and you asked for it back, it would be my pleasure to return it. Why would I want to keep something an ex-friend gave me? It would just be a reminder that they were not the person I thought they were originally.

Morally, I would return it. Legally, if you can prove it was a gift (maybe a gift card, or an email or something) then you could defend a court action. If you don't have proof, the ex-friend could claim it was on lone during the friendship, and might get it back in a judgement.

A gift is a gift. Ordinarily there is no obligation to return a gift unless it was based on some condition occurring (like an engagement ring, which is a conditional gift based on the condition that the two people will be married).

If it was given as a gift, a court of law will agree that the receiver is the legal owner of that gift.
