Don't feel bad, you needed that laughter, to get you thru the funeral, which I'm sure was tough. At my Dad's graveside service, we were all walking to the cars and I decide to pick a flower from the spray on top of the casket, well it wouldn't budge, so I pulled harder and the next thing I knew the whole arrangement fell on the ground and I was left holding nothing but a torn leaf and everyone was staring at my red face. My brother and sister started laughing and told me "I think Dad wanted you to have that leaf", which made me laugh too! The only ones that thought it was funny was us three!

I have laughed at the wrong time far too many times to count! It's a defense mechanism for me! Don't feel bad because of a moment you & your sister desperately needed!! Just know that, your Mom was surely laughing with you! :)

I have been there for sure. There is great release to laugh, especially when you are sad. I am sure I want my kids to be able to do so when I am gone. Don't hold any guilt. There are plenty of other things you do that make up for any perceived disrespect.

You know that grief is different in everyone. What you and your sister were doing is very normal. You guys were letting out some of the stress of losing your mother and having to go to her funeral. It's normal and healthy. Your father understands that. I'm very sorry for your loss.

Hey laughter is the best medicine...
I have a bad habit of laughing when someone gets threatened with violence. One of these days I'm going to get my @ss kicked

Life goes on. Including those times when we take a sanity second for ourselves.
