Why must we always elect one President who implements his own people and ideoligies? I think a panel of 11 elected officials would serve the country better. They could be a mix of moderates, conservatives and liberals.

The congress and the courts act this way, why can't we have a sort of parliament run the country. One man surely does not know the right choices to make on every aspect of domestic and foreign policy.

And who is going to decide if a person is con, lib or mod? That's the problem no matter how big of a panel you elect there will never be and equality of sides. The system we have has checks and balances that keep all sides from controlling the country entirely.

The idea is that the largish body of legislators with short terms, the lone president, and the smaller, more permanent panel of supreme court judges will balance out the relative advantages and disadvantages of power being held too closely by an individual, or distributed to broadly among a committee.

Already do. The Senate and Congress. I think the Office of President runs the man, not the man running the Office (the country). I think it doesn't matter if a Dem, Rep., or Whig are president, the same things will happen.
