I year old? A 1 year old is a little young to participate in games. They are entertained by watching and observing. You could sing Happy Birthday, let the 1 year old blow out the candle and open the presents. Hire a clown to come in and entertain your young party members. Put on a puppet show. One hour of fun should be enough for a child this young. Then the adults can enjoy the party in their own style while the little ones nap.

At that age, The Uh-Oh game is probably the only game you're gonna get the kid to have any fun with. Give them any object. Let them drop it so you can pick it up for them. Give it back. Repeat. Also, the Tear Up Wrapping Paper Game, or the Play With the Empty Box Instead of the Toy game. Really, at that age, a birthday party is pretty pointless except for the adults. *l*

dont try "games" as such try singing nursery rhymes with all the litteones in a circle, otherwise baloons are a surefire winner as is antything that prompts tearing paper into shreds,
dont forget that after about an hour or so at that age the little ones will probably be knackered so hsve a party bag for each of the friends to take home & dont forget to sing the goodbye song as they leave.

1 is a little young for party games, they'll find it hard to grasp the rules and their attention is likely to wander. Pass the Parcel might work, but most other party games are for older kids really. One thing that will keep small kids amused is balloons.!

Put the guest of honor and his friends down for a nap and pour the adults a drink. Who is this party for, any way?

Smell the Poopy Diaper. Have the parents smell each kids diaper, the baby that's most rank gets a new pacifier. I hope you aren't trying to get one year olds to participate in organized activities- that would be absurd.
