t1riel give me some of what you're smoking.Mauer didn't win AL MVP last year.I think you are confusing MVP category with batting title lol.Kind of goofy to see a "top contributor" make such a silly blunder lmao.Anyways Howard definitely deserved it as the award is based on the season played not what they do in multiple seasons and he did carry that team on his shoulders all year long.

Mourneau deserved it to though you could have said the same about 5 or 6 others in the AL last year.I think ultimately they gave it to him because he was most improved of the candidates after struggling at the plate the season before that (that whole "comeback player of the year" feel good story BS i guess). To his credit he was a huge part of why the Twins stayed competitive in the division even after guys liek Liriano went down to injury and Carlos Silva was pitching like he belonged in the minors.

Ryan Howard was clearly the correct choice in the NL. In the AL, a good argument could have been made for either Morneau, Jeter, or Mauer. All three were very good last year.

Yes it was wack! And to give the award to Morneau who wasn't even the MVP of his own team was an insult.

Aside from Jeter hitting .344 , 214 hits, and 118 runs scored, the guy was clutch all year long. He single handily won games with is bat in key situations all of last year.

I could see Howard or Pujols winning it last year. That was a close one to call.

Morneau should not have won it. Mauer's over all number were not that great. Jeter should have won it and even most of the players in the league though he should have to.

As for Pujols and Howard, flip a coin.

considering the insane rate at which the twins won games after memorial day last year, id say yes mourneau deserved it. Howard was a lock also because after his team was dead after the trading deadline, he started to hit homeruns at a big rate and almost got his team into the playoffs

Yes, Big Papi really needs to get something for his multiple single handed game winning hits. A MVP is a stretch, but he should have got the playoff MVP in 04. His #'s last yr were as close to MVP as a DH is going to get. And don't say a DH shouldn't win a MVP. That is his position, if DH's cant win MVP, why should pitcher's get silver sluggers?

Why must people cry about the most boring things like worthless awards. The only one that matters is the World Series title.
And yes - both deserved it.

Howard did because he hit more homeruns then Pujols did, and more hits

First of all, it was Joe Mauer who won it, not Justin Morneau. Mauer won it becuase he had the highest batting average.

Howard won it because he had the most home runs.
