I was 6 weeks and had an early ultrasound b/c I had some dark brown spotting and that is when I found out I had a blighted ovum. It has now been just over 2 weeks since my D&C, I have my own DR's reocomendations but I was just wanting some information from people who have been down this road on what they did and whether they had any complications the second time. This was my first pregnancy.

I have experienced the same in between my first and second pregnancy. It is just a strange occurrence. Sure it was emotionally sad as I spent a night in the hospital losing alot of blood before it passed itself the next day. The way to think about it is that your body dispelled it because something was not right and the fact that it was NOT an embryo...NOT a little life lost. It is not something you have to worry about affecting any future pregnancies. God bless!

I have been pregnant 7 times. I lost my first two pregnancies due to a miscarriage at 13.5 weeks then a month later I am in the O.R having emergency surgery on my left fallopian tube because of an ectopic pregnancy. My third pregnancy I had my first son. When he was 2 1/2 I had my second son. When he was 2 I had a blighted ovum and had a scheduled d&c. After that, I had another son and when he was barely 3 months old I got pregnant my final time and had a premature daughter @ 33 weeks. All my kids were c-sections. You'll go on to have a healthy baby or babies, so don't give up and don't worry so much. Look at my experience! Bless you.

My first pregnancy was a blighted ovum...I found out at 9 weeks. I also opted for a d&c to clear it out. My Dr told me to wait at least one cycle before trying again...but she did say with the d&c that it makes the uterus fresh and that I would be pregnant within 3 months...and I was. I carried the second pregnancy to term with absolutely no problems.
