If she says the other girl is better, but you want a solo, show her you deserve it. Maybe not this concert, but the next. Practice your heart out, woo her with your skill, and show her you deserve a solo! If that fails, there's always karaoke night!!

I think you should go see a school counselor or even the vice principal. For a teacher she handled that really badly. If the other student is better...good for her, the teacher has no excuse to tell you in that manner. She could have offered tips for getting the next solo...additional practices, one on one tutoring, something on that scale. I am sorry you got so hurt by the insensitivity of your choir teacher, but there will be other solos and I am sure if you be the bigger person you will get them. Don't give up!

Well, in my opinion, talk to her about it tell her what your thoughts about it is! Don't sweat the small stuff! It won't help! I think you should also ask her to STOP saying people are better than you! What teacher says that????? And if you feel more comfortable...tell a principal or something about her saying people are better than you!

Get a voice coach. What the teacher said was unprofessional and rude.

Threatening to hurt people under any circumstances is unacceptable. You need to look at you childish behaviour and check yourself.

Don't let things like that discourage you from doing something that you really love!
